Close Reading

Often in kinder classes,
a Close Informational Reading
is a group choral experience
with the teacher and the kiddos
thinking and talking

A Close Literature Reading

an active listening experience

questioning and conversing,
the kiddos and the teacher
enjoying a story

Shared Reading
promotes
fluency and speed
with
expression and enjoyment
( We like how one teacher calls it
"miles for the tongue")
The text may be
predictable
with
engaging passages
Framed Writing books
allow the kiddos to
create emergent readers
with predictable structure
and
key vocabulary.
provide the kiddos with
word support and pictures clues
to read books
as well develop
writing and spelling vocabularies.
